Developing A Level Pedagogy

Participant Information

Raising the bar!

Teaching key topics of A Level Mathematics to your current B, C and D grade students with the aim to raise their aspirations and achievement.

Is it possible to teach so that your current B grades achieve an A, C grades a B and D grades a C or better?

We will consider the key topics of calculus, trigonometry and logs and exponentials, all of which are underpinned by good algebraic skills, and how these may be taught to help raise student achievement.  Some of the techniques, which will build on previous workgroup activities may include variation and pre-teaching strategies to support middle ability A Level students.

This workgroup will build on the work from last year and will welcome teachers who have been involved previously,  but we would very much welcome teachers who will be new to the workgroup and who are interested in considering ways to improve A Level attainment.
