CODE and Multi-Academy Trusts

Across England, around 35% of primary schools and 60% of secondary schools are now part of a trust. In CODE, this figure is significantly higher, with 4 in 5 schools in Cornwall and 3 in 5 schools in Devon belonging to a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). We already work in partnership with the majority of MATs across CODE.

We welcome schools to engage either individually or through a trust-wide approach to professional development. Our LLMEs are drawn from, and work collaboratively across, trusts and schools throughout the region. The work of the hub aims to support and align with MAT and school priorities, with a range of CPD to engage with at Primary, Secondary and Post 16.

Why work with CODE as a Multi-Academy Trust? Below are some testimonials from a few of our existing partners;

Multi-Academy Trust Maths Lead Community - a CPD community designed to support those leading maths across multiple schools

This community supports those who lead maths across a MAT to embed teaching for mastery at scale. Participants will deepen their understanding of effective pedagogy, leadership roles, and build capacity with colleagues to transform maths teaching and learning. Along side more formal sessions, there is access to an active online community and access to national expertise enhance ongoing development.

Participants need to be supported by their MAT to attend three national community days over the academic year, held face to face in Birmingham. They are also expected to take part in any inter-sessional learning that supports their work on the programme to develop themselves and others. In addition, there is an active and supportive online community of MAT maths leads on this project; it is hoped that participants will contribute.

Our aim

The core purpose of the hub is to help schools and colleges lead improvement in mathematics education across the region. We seek to harness all the maths leadership and expertise within the area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students.
