Revised for 2026/27
Schools now select from a range of focused themes, dependent on school priorities. Think of these Work Groups as a community for teachers to come together to share and develop practice.Â
These Work Groups now provide a flexible framework for hubs to support the ‘enabler of change’ in a department through structured opportunities for collaboration within and between departments.
Schools are eligible to join if they have previously engaged with a Secondary Teaching for Mastery Work Group or have had a Secondary Mastery Specialist working at their school.
Work Groups will meet for the equivalent of three days across the year; some of this might be online and some might be face-to-face.
Participant Information
Hubs are asked to select one or more themes appropriate to their local context and schools needs, adopting and adapting the provided toolkit of materials to build their own coherent professional development offer together.
The collaborative sessions will provide practical support for participants to plan and lead impactful professional development within their department.
The intended participants are teachers in schools that have previously engaged with ‘secondary teaching for mastery’ – for example, schools with a Secondary Mastery Specialist or those that have engaged with the previous Development, Embedding, Sustaining model.Â
